The summit was organized by the Macau SAR Government and hosted by the University of Macau. More than 20 university presidents from the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau were invited to give presentations concerning cross-strait higher education and the ways to develop world-class universities. Mr. Yuan Guiren, Minister of Education of People's Republic of China delivered a keynote speech on the development of higher education in Mainland China.
