The Office of Academic Links (China) [OALC] organized the 5th Summer Institute for Mainland Higher Education Executives at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from August 6 to 12, with a record-high participation of 67 executives from 16 mainland universities. Participating universities are listed below in alphabetical order.

Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK welcomed the participating executives at the opening ceremony. The proramme comprised a series of lectures and visits through which participants obtained a thorough understanding about various areas of work of the University and other local institutions, ranging from the college system, academic exchange, student affairs, human resource management, alumni affairs, institutional advancement, campus development, registration and examination system, to the safety management and communication and public relations. The participants also acquired knowledge of and exchanged ideas on the development of university management in mainland China and Hong Kong, as well as learning more about the education development of the society. At the closing ceremony, Prof. Fok presented certificates to all participants, recognizing the fruitful outcome of the programme.
With the aim of enhancing communication between university executives from mainland China and Hong Kong, CUHK first organized this annual programme in 2013. It serves to establish friendship and strengthen interaction between executives of CUHK and its partner universities, paving the way for further collaboration.
