Collaboration with Taiwan Central University
Jing-Yang Jou, the new President of Taiwan Central University (NCU) led a delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 21 August 2013 to discuss collaboration issues.
The delegates met with CUHK senior members including Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Fung Tung, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Leung Yuen-sang, Dean of Arts; and Prof. Paul Lee, Dean of Social Science.
Meetings were held to update with each other the progress of collaborative projects between the two universities and to discuss further directions specifically on Cross-strait Green University Consortium and collaborative initiatives in Humanities and Social Science. President Jou and the delegates also visited the University Library as well as Lee Woo Sing College where they met with Prof. Joseph Lau, College Master and Prof. Yam Yeung, Associate College Master to learn about the development of the colleges in CUHK.
The visit consolidated the existing collaborative efforts of CUHK with NCU and enhanced ties for future development.

Director of Bureau of International Cooperation, CASS Visits CUHK
Dr. Wang Lei, Director of Bureau of International Cooperation, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 7 August 2013. Dr. Wang met with Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor to learn more about the University and discuss on academic exchange initiatives between CASS and CUHK. The visit enhanced understanding and bolstered the linkage between the two parties.

Delegation from Jilin Province
A 7-member delegation headed by Prof. Li Longxi, Vice Director of the Standing Committee of Jilin Province visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 15August 2013 to enhance academic exchange.
The delegates were warmly received by Prof. Leung Ping-chung, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China (CUHK) and Prof. Wong Kam-fai, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. The delegates visited the Institute of Chinese Medicine. During the meeting, both sides took the opportunity to exchange ideas on collaboration. The delegates next visited the Art Museum where the tour was introduced by Prof. Jenny So, Director of Art Museum. The visit enhanced understanding and bolstered the linkage between the two parties.
