Vice Chancellor Prof. Joseph Sung led Delegation Visits China Astronaut Research and Training Center

 

Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) led a delegation to visit the China Astronaut Research and Training Center (ACC) from 14 to 16 August 2013 to strengthen research collaboration between the two parties.

 

Members of the delegation included Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Qin Lin, Director of the State Key Lab of Space Medicine Fundamentals and Application -CUHK Shenzhen Research Base for Health Maintenance of Musculoskeletal System. And Prof. Li Gang of Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology. The delegation met with Director Prof. Deng Yibing of ACC, Vice Director Prof. Bai Yanqing of ACC; and Prof. Li Yinghui, Director of the State Key Lab of Space Medicine Fundamentals and Application. Discussion was held at the meeting on the new developments and mode of further collaboration regarding the jointly established research base in musculoskeletal system.  CUHK delegates also met the "Shenzhou-9 Space Mission" astronauts and visited the research facilities in ACC to learn about the recent space research development.

 

Since the signing of the Letter of Intent on Collaboration in 2006, CUHK and ACC have started collaboration projects in Chinese Medicine, Biomedical Engineering and Musculoskeletal System. The two parties established the State Key Lab of Space Medicine Fundamentals and Application -CUHK Shenzhen Research Base for Health Maintenance of Musculoskeletal System. The visit had strengthened CUHK's linkage with ACC and scaled new collaboration with specific projects.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Fanny Cheung Visits Partner Institutions in Beijing

 

Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) visited CUHK's partner institutes in Beijingfrom21 to 26 August 2013.

 

During the period, Prof. Cheung paid visit to the Institute of Archeology and the library of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS);the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)and Beijing Normal University (BNU). She met with Prof. Li Yang, Vice President of CASS; Dr. Fang Xin, Deputy-Secretary of CAS; Prof. Dong Qi, President of BNU; Prof. Liu Zheng and Prof. Chen Xingcan, Vice Directors of Institute of Archaeology of CASS; and Prof. Fu Xiaolan, Director of Institute of Psychology of CAS.  Prof. Cheung also delivered a keynote lecture at the International Conference for Chinese Psychologists held in BNU.

 

The visits strengthened the collaborative efforts of CUHK in Beijing and built closer links for future collaborations in academic exchange and research cooperation.
