6. Get Your CUHK VPN On and Off - Reminder for Win 8 / Win 8.1 Users

If you are using Win 8 or Win 8.1 devices to make a VPN connection to CUHK, you may observe that the maximum connection time of a VPN session is only one hour and you will need to reconnect to VPN when a session ends. Some of you may also need to manually disconnect from network (e.g. Wi-Fi) and then reconnect to it before connecting to VPN again.

Microsoft and Aruba are now working together to fix the issue. There is no hot-fix yet. For the time being, Win 8 and Win 8.1 users are suggested to disconnect VPN manually, say every 45 minutes and then reconnect to VPN.
