| A delegation from Ministry of Education (MOE) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 28 October. The delegation was led by Mr. Xu Yongji, Assistant Director General, Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of MOE. The purpose of the visit was to understand the development of CUHK and to get a better idea on joint education programmes between the University and the institutions in Mainland China.
The delegation met with CUHK representatives, including Prof. Kenneth Young, Acting Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Wing Wong, Dean of Graduate School; Prof. Andrew Chan, Acting Dean of Faculty of Business Administration; Dr. Victor Lee, Director of School of Continuing and Professional Studies; Prof. Jia Jianmin, Administrative Director of EMBA Programme (Xian); Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Office of Academic Links (China); and Mr. Yao Kan, Chief Representative, CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute etc. To address the increasing demand for high quality education programmes, CUHK has developed partnerships with reputable qualified educational institutions for the purpose of providing joint courses in several countries. In the meeting, CUHK representatives discussed with the delegation about the operation and management of these joint programmes with their mainland partners and the directions for future development. |
