2010 Guangdong-Hong Kong Forum for Academic Exchange Heads was held in Hong Kong on 1 June. With the support from the Education Dpeartment of Guangdong Provincial Government; and the Division of Education, Science and Technology Department, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR (Liaison Office), the forum was co-hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and 8 other Hong Kong tertiary institutions. More than 40 representatives from 24 institutions attended the forum.

The theme of the forum was "Academic Links between Guangdong and Hong Kong Higher Education Institutions under the Framework Agreement on Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation". In the forum, representatives from Guangdong and Hong Kong outlined their collaboration initiatives, stating the problems encountered and possible action plans. The meeting provided opportunities for the heads in academic exchange units from the two regions to share their experience in higher education sector without boundaries. Participants not only obtained valuable knowledge, but also established stronger links with each other through this event.

This is the first time the forum was hosted in Hong Kong. The first "Guangdong-Hong Kong Forum for Academic Exchange Heads" was held in Guangdong last year with 31 attendees from Guangdong and Hong Kong higher education institutions. CUHK served as the convenor on Hong Kong side in these two years.
