Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Mr. Song Bo, Associate Director, Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, MOE, Ms. Michelle Li, Vice-Secretary General of the Education Bureau, HKSAR and Mr. Mo Jinqiang, Deputy Director-General of Department of Educational, Science and Technology Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR officiated at the opening ceremony on 23 November.
The programme consisted of a series of lectures and visits to universities, through which participants came to have a better understanding of the academic exchange, college system, human resources management and fund-raising activities in higher education institutions, as well as the education system in Hong Kong. The participants had chances to learn basic Cantonese and to pay visits to Independent Commission Against Corruption, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR, Hong Kong Museum of History and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited so as to acquire a broader picture of Hong Kong.
The programme this year was well received with great success. Apart from getting to know each other, academic links officers from different universities in Hong Kong and in the mainland were provided with a valuable opportunity to enhance mutual understanding, paving the way for future cooperation.
