On 9 October, Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) led a delegation to visit Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The delegation members included Prof. Chan Wai Yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences; Prof. Fung Kwok Pui, Chairman of Department of Biochemistry; and Prof. Nelson Tang of Department of Chemical Pathology. The delegation met with Prof. Zhang Yaping, Director of Kunming Institute of Zoology to discuss cooperation issues between CUHK and KIZ.
The University has developed friendly relationship with KIZ since 1999. During the years, the two parties have actively promoted academic collaboration on areas of research collaboration, staff exchange and visit. In 2007, the "KIZ/CUHK Joint Laboratory of Bioresources and Molecular Research in Common Diseases" had been established to further strengthen cooperation on human diseases between the two parties. |
