I·CARE NGO Internship Programme (Mainland & Taiwan): Open for Application

The I·CARE NGO Internship Programme (Mainland & Taiwan) collaborates with the non-governmental organisations (NGO) in the Mainland and Taiwan to offer non-local internship opportunities to students.  Lasting for 8 weeks, this programme provides students with a better understanding of the services of the NGOs, in addition to reflecting on their values and their connection with the communities from a wider perspective.  Details of the programme for this academic year are as follows:

PFLAG China* (Guangdong)Service support for sexual minorities and their relatives, gender knowledge training
Yunnan Heart to Heart Community Care (Yunnan)Poverty relief, community development, children's service
Wuding Sincere Heart Social Work Center (Yunnan)Poverty relief, elderly and youth service, child education
Friends of Nature - Gaia School (Beijing)Environmental protection, environmental education, sustainable living
Beichuan Big Fish Public Welfare Development Center (Sichuan)Disaster response, youth development, community development
Taiwan Tongzhi Hotline Association* (Taipei)Supporting service for sexual minorities, policy advocacy on equality
Peitou Culture Foundation (Peitou)Community building, cultural preservation, sustainable development
Chi-Mei Community University* (Kaohsiung)Agricultural development, urban-rural co-existence

* Second interview is to be conducted; applicants will receive notification separately.

Eligibility

All CUHK undergraduates (including final year undergraduates)

Internship Period

From late-May to early-August 2019 (exact schedule to be drawn up by mutual agreement between the interns and NGOs)
