Delegation led by Mayor of Cixi City Visits CUHK

Mr. Shi Huifang, Mayor of Cixi City, led a 10-member delegation to visit CUHK on 13 October. The delegation met with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK to discuss on entrepreneurship and innovative collaboration projects.

The delegates also met with Prof. Walter Ho (Director of Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services), Prof. Du Ruxu (Director of Institute of Precision Engineering) and Ms Wing Wong (Director of Academic Links (China)), and shared experience in innovation technologies and research developments in the University. After the meeting, the delegates joined a luncheon with Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and Prof. Kevin Au, Director of the Pre-incubation Centre to explore collaboration opportunities.

Delegation from Ningbo City Visits CUHK

A 9-member delegation led by Mr. Hu Chidi, Deputy Director-General of the Education Bureau of Ningbo, visited CUHK on 15 October. Members of the delegation included Dr Guo Huawei, Director of the Council of Ningbo University, Ms Bei Songmin of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Office of Ningbo City, and Mr Liu Guoliang, Vice President of Ningbo College of Education, .

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice Chancellor of CUHK and faculty members including Prof. Alvin Leung, Dean of Faculty of Education; Prof. Hau Kit-tai and Prof. Stephen Wong, Co-Directors of Hong Kong Institute of Educational Research; Prof. Amy Ha, Associate Dean of Faculty of Education and Prof. Nicholas Pang, Department Chairperson of Educational Administration and Policy. Discussions were held on current collaborative projects and the possibility for further collaboration. The visit provided an opportunity to enhance understanding and establish links for further collaboration.

Visit of Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University

Prof. Li Ping, Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) led a delegation to visit CUHK on 26 October. She met with Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University to discuss on a variety of collaboration projects in research, student interflow, resources sharing and regional developments. The interactions deepened mutual understanding between CUHK and SYSU.

Other Important Visits

Vice President of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine Visits CUHK

Prof. Bai Zhengping, Vice President of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, led a 6-member delegation to visit CUHK on 22 October. The delegation met with Prof. Albert Leung, Dean of School of Chinese Medicine, and Ms Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China), to know more about the developments of teaching and research in Chinese medicine in CUHK. Both sides discussed on collaboration opportunities to strengthen academic linkages between the two universities.

Delegation from Taiwan Ministry of Education visits CUHK

Dr. Yang Min-Ling, Director General of Department of International and Cross-strait Education, Taiwan Ministry of Education led a delegation to visit CUHK on 29 October 2015. The delegation also toured the University to obtain more information about CUHK.
