The General Education Best Essay Award celebrates the innovations and critical thinking brought to bear on student essays written for the two General Education Foundation courses, In Dialogue with Humanity and In Dialogue with Nature. Eighteen essays from over 300 keen submissions received the Best Essay Award this year. The student seminar featured seven of them. These papers comprise argumentative essays as well as original attempts at short story and Platonic dialogue as alternative approaches to integrate classics from various times and to examine their relevance to the contemporary world. CW Chu College is pleased that our students, constituting about 2.5% of the undergraduate student body, won three out of the 18 awards.
