The College congratulates the following members for their academic achievements.
Miss WONG Yip: the International Championship in the 8th Annual Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition Miss WONG Yip, a Year Five student majoring in Hotel and Tourism Management, and her five teammates won the international championship in the 8th Annual Cornell International Real Estate Competition, held by the Center for Real Estate and Finance of Cornell University on 14–15 November 2016, in New York City, and received a cash award of US$10,000. Participating universities included Brandeis, Brown, Cornell, Georgetown, Indiana, NYU, Penn State, Renmin, Stanford, CUHK, Colorado, Connecticut, Guelph, Michigan, Penn (Wharton), Queensland, Sydney, Texas at Austin, Wisconsin at Madison, and Villanova. The competition is recognised internationally as the most prestigious competition in real estate. The teams were required to conduct a case study and present on an actual real estate transaction in five days. After the intense preparation process, the teams delivered presentations that were judged by leading real estate experts for their analysis, recommendations and presentation. Miss CHENG Wai Chung: Innovation and Technology Scholarship Miss CHENG Wai Chung, a Year One Cell and Molecular Biology major, has been awarded a scholarship under the Innovation and Technology Scholarship Award Scheme 2017, which was organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, with sponsorship from HSBC and support from the Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR Government. The Award Ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 25 April 2017. The scholarship will offer Miss CHENG the opportunity to attach to one or more overseas or Mainland universities or institutions from 1 June 2017 to 30 June 2018, to be paired with a distinguished personality in her academic field as her mentor, and to be invited to partake in social services related to innovation and technology. The award amount is up to HK$150,000, depending on the destination(s) and durations(s) of the attachment. Miss MA Ming Yan: Esther Yewpick Lee Millennium Scholarship Miss MA Ming Yan, alumna of CW Chu College and awardee of the Esther Yewpick Lee Millennium Scholarship, will be pursuing her Master of Studies in English (1900–Present) at the University of Oxford, UK, in the coming autumn. Miss MA completed her Master's degree in Literary Studies at CUHK in the 2016–17 academic year, during which she also served as a Resident Tutor at the College. In her undergraduate years, Miss MA was an active participant of College activities, among which she acted as the Vice President of the College Service Team, and organised numerous Toastmasters Club Taster Sessions. In addition to the many scholarships that she was awarded, she was also the winner of the Cultus et Beneficentia Award 2016, the most pretigiuos award of the College to recognise the best student(s) of the graduating class, who have demonstrated the spirit of CWC, namely Intimate, International, Intellectual and Involved, in the best way during their normative study periods. The College appreciates Miss MA's contributions over the last five years, and extends its best wishes to her.
