The Centre is pleased to announce that Professors Gao Yunwen, Ling Minhua, and Kristof Van den Troost succeeded in applying for major competitive research grants from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC). The supported research topics and funding schemes are as below.

• Professor Gao Yunwen: "Dialect Writing and Identity Formation from Late Qing to Contemporary Shanghai" (Early Career Scheme [ECS])
• Professor Ling Minhua: "Food Consumption of Left-behind Children and Rural Transformation in Post-reform China" (General Research Fund [GRF])
• Professor Kristof Van den Troost: "The Hong Kong Crime Film" (ECS)
