The 20 students present come from I·CARE Hong Kong Cultural Tours Project, I·CARE Cross-generational Integration Programme, "Fitness x Mentorship" Scheme, I·CARE Social Service Projects Scheme, I·CARE Community Research Scheme, Social Enterprise Startup Scheme and I·CARE Achievers Programme, as well as from the Wu Zhi Qiao (CUHK) Team formed under this Centre. University staff including Prof. Dennis Ng (Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Acting University Dean of Students), Prof. Vivian Lee (Associate University Dean of Students), Ms. Agnes Ho (Director of Student Affairs) and Ms. Irene Ng (Director of this Centre) were also in attendance.
During the tea gathering, all students briefly presented their work and gains in the I·CARE Programme, followed by a genuine exchange of views with Prof. Tuan and other university staff. While they won recognition for their efforts and commitment in serving different communities (e.g. asylum seekers, people with intellectual disabilities, child caretakers in grass-roots families, and the ethnic minority youth), they were encouraged by the Vice-Chancellor to continue partaking in the meaningful causes to serve more people in need.
