Prof. Li-ze Xiong, Dean of Xijing Hospital (the 1st affiliated hospital of the 4th Military Medical University); Prof. Zhou Fei, Director of the Neurosurgery Unit, Xijing Hospital; and Prof. Wei-ping Liu, Associate Director of the Neurosurgery Unit, Xijing Hospital, visited the School of Biomedical Sciences on 15 February 2011. The delegates met with Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, SBS Director; and representatives from two of our Thematic Research Programs (TRPs) including Prof. John A. Rudd, Prof. David C. C. Wan, and Prof. Helen Wise from the "Neuro-degeneration, -development, and Repair" Program; and Prof. Bo Feng, Prof. Kingston Mak, and Prof. Chao Wan from the "Stem Cell and Regeneration" Program. During the meeting, Prof. Chan shared an overview of our School. The guests discussed with our members on possible areas for research collaboration and academic exchange. The meeting was followed by a tour to the core laboratories and teaching facilities. Members of the two TRPs and Prof. Chan were invited by Prof. Xiong to pay a return visit to the 4th Military Medical University in the last quarter of 2011. |
