The I·CARE Centre for Whole-person Development has all along been committed to inspiring students to spread "happiness" by helping others and contributing to a bigger cause. That said, we place equal emphasis on the students' inner self hoping that you would develop an optimistic attitude and overcome adversity to achieve your personal best. Never neglect the joys of life as well, even though life is comprised of not only success, meaningfulness, loyalty and fun, but also failure, absurdity, treason and odds. Well goes an old saying, "Life is full of ups and downs."
It is acknowledged that you will be, at times, saddened by heavy course load, undesirable GPA, lack of exchange opportunities, and uncertain career prospect, etc. While you need to deal with those negative emotions in a genuine way, you are reminded that choosing between happiness and grief just rests with your mindset. In fact, no matter what GPA you get, and whether you are on academic probation or not - we in I·CARE treasure you and the University likewise.
Sincerely yours,
Irene Ng
