The Cultus et Beneficentia Award was established in 2016 by the College, to be granted to the best student(s) of the graduating class of CW Chu College starting from this year onwards. This award will be the highest honour for students of the College.
Nature of the Award
The vision statement of CWC embraces four elements (4'I's: Intimate, International, Intellectual and Involved) which distinguish the College and to which we shall devote our efforts:
'An intimate community of scholars drawn from diverse backgrounds, engaged with the world in a spirit of curiosity and generosity.'
The Award, therefore, aims to recognise student(s) who have demonstrated the spirit of CWC in the best way during their normative study periods.
Eligibility, Selection Criteria and Announcement of Results
All CWC students of the graduating class 2016 were eligible for the Award. Three candidates were nominated by the College according to their academic performance, their international awareness and engagement, and their involvement in various college activities and society at large in the past four years. The winner is then selected by the graduating class itself by a blind voting process.
Miss Carissa Ma won the Award, which was presented at the Farewell Party for the First Graduating Class held on 13 May 2016.
