Providing learning and research support services to faculties and students is another key duty which I enjoy very much.
Can you share with us your career journey and education background?
I obtained my bachelor’s degree of Business Administration in Hong Kong and I worked in the business field for a while before obtaining the Master of Library and Information Studies in Australia. Before joining CUHK, I have been working as Learning Support Librarian, Faculty Librarian, and Branch Librarian across academic libraries in Hong Kong.
What are you responsible for?
As the Associate Medical Librarian, I work with the Medical Librarian to lead a team of library staff to maintain the daily operation of the Medical Library. We also work together to liaise with the Faculty to develop library services and collections tailored to their teaching and research needs. In terms of user education, I liaise with teachers to provide information literacy training for undergraduate and postgraduate students on the use of medical and health information tailored for specific teaching programs. In terms of research support, I offer research consultations to postgraduate students on the use of electronic resources, search skills, citation management, systematic reviews, etc. I also provide a citation search service for Faculty members to showcase their research impact.
