Mentorship and Scholarships

Since the founding cohort, the Mentorship Scheme has benefited close to 300 students, supported over the years by more than 70 mentors. In 2022–23, a total of 11 seasoned professionals agreed to mentor our students (14 mentees joining the Scheme), guiding them to discover their potential.

Launch Ceremony for the Mentorship Scheme and Presentation of Scholarships and Certificates 2022–23

The Launch Ceremony for the Mentorship Scheme and Presentation of Scholarships and Certificates 2022–23 was held on 25 March 2023 at Chong Kin Wo Hall. Over a hundred participants were present, including Dr David CHU, Chairman of the Committee of Overseers, scholarship donors, mentors and mentees, guests and friends of the College, College affiliates, parents, as well as award and certificate recipients.

College Master Prof Suk-Ying WONG and Chair of the Mentorship and Internship Committee Prof Jeremy TEOH addressed the audience. Prof WONG expressed her hearty thanks to Dr CHU, scholarship donors, as well as friends and colleagues who have supported the College over the years. Prof TEOH expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all mentors from near and far, who have contributed their time and energy and generously shared their experience and life wisdom with students. Chairing the Committee for the first time, he was honoured to be able to contribute his share and to witness the growth and development of our students.

Mr Sattar KADIR, a Year 2 student from Bangladesh majoring in Mechanical and Automation Engineering, delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the scholarship recipients. He thanked all the people he met on campus, for the encouragement and opportunities he received. On behalf of fellow students, Sattar also expressed his sincere gratitude to all benefactors, for creating many educational programmes and the close-knit community they enjoy at CWC.

This year, around 90 scholarships were distributed in recognition of students' academic and non-academic achievements. Certificates were presented to members of student organisations, in appreciation of their contributions to various College initiatives.

A tea reception was held at Lanson Terrace after the ceremony.
