The 11th Seminar on Chinese Moral Education was held from 2 to 9 July 2013, with the theme "Personal Cultivation (修身)". 48 participants from schools and units of various parts of China including Beijing, Tianjin, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Shanxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Hubei, Inner Mongolia and Guangdong joined the seminar this year.
Five lectures were held during the 8-day programme this year, which were delivered by Prof. Qian Xun from Tsinghua University, Father Tsui Kam Yiu from the Hong Kong Catholic Institute for Religion and Society, Dr. Chan Hok Yin from the Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics, City University of Hong Kong, Prof. Harold Mok from the Department of Fine Arts, CUHK and Prof. Lau Kwok Keung from the New Asia College. Apart from the lectures, participants also visited local schools and organizations, including C.C.C. Heep Woh Primary School, New Asia Middle School, ICAC Headquarter and Tin Ka Ping Foundation, where they learnt more about the moral education in Hong Kong. Teachers from local schools were invited to forums to introduce programmes related to moral education and the promotion of Chinese Culture in Hong Kong. The seminar proved to be an excellent platform and invaluable learning experience for the participants.
