The third session took place in Yuen Long, where 25 CUHK students were led by the "Ethnic Minority Cultural Ambassadors" of WEDO Global to have an understanding of the ethnic minority community and their retail shops. Through interacting with the shop owners, participants learnt how the daily life of this community had changed since their immigration to Hong Kong and the difficulties they had been encountering due to language barrier and cultural differences.
As for the final session, 10 CUHK students visited RTC Gaia School at Tuen Mun - a non-mainstream private primary school which advocates "experiential nature education" and upholds the value of green living. Apart from a campus tour, participants joined the classes to experience the daily school life of the students.
A Walk in Community with I·CARE has come to an end for this academic year. Stay tuned for our activities in the new academic year.
