The First High Table Dinner was held at Ron's Kitchen, Science Park on 4 Sept 2012, as part of the O'Camp for new students. College members, including Overseers and many friends of the College were all cordially invited to this orientation event, where our new students experienced their many firsts: the first formal event, the first high table dinner and the first time to wear a gown as the College's first students.
Present at the dinner were Mr Ampere Chu, son of Dr CW Chu, and Mrs Ampere Chu. To add to the excitement, our guest Mr Bing Liao gave a speech on his encounters with Dr CW Chu, who provided the scholarship that enabled Mr Liao to go abroad to study. He is very grateful to Dr Chu for that life-changing opportunity, and in the speech motivated our students, as he had once been motivated, to become stronger and braver. From the speech, student learnt of the selfless generosity of spirit of Dr Chu, after whom our College is named.
