Led by Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of SBS, a 22-member delegation including Prof. Feng Bo, Prof. Jiang Xiaohua, Prof. Wan Chao, Prof. Zhao Hui, Prof. Lu Gang and Prof. Albert H.H. Cheung, as well as research staff, postgraduate students and Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Director of the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine of CUHK, participated in the 9th Guangzhou International Conference on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine and the 5th Annual Conference of Chinese Society for Regenerative Cell Biology held from 19-21 December 2016 in Guangzhou, China. The Conference was organized by the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); Key Laboratory of Regenerative Biology, CAS; Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine; and co-organized by GIBH-CUHK Joint Research Laboratory on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine; GIBH-HKU Guangdong-Hong Kong Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research Centre; as well as Guangdong Saliai Stem Cell Research Institute. 24 scientists from China, Japan, Australia, United Kingdom, U.S.A. and other European countries were invited as speakers in the Conference. Please refer to the official website of the Conference for more details. The annual Conference has been organized for 9 consecutive years since the 1st Conference held in 2008. Through the CUHK-GIBH CAS Joint Laboratory on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine which was established in August 2012, our School has been taking up a more active role in this event. By participating in this annual Conference, our School members can deepen their connections with mainland and overseas renowned scientists in stem cell and regenerative medicine, hence facilitating them to yield more academic collaborations and apply for more major national grants in the future. |
