Exploring Space with Origami
The College invited Mr Heinz Strobl, a well-known origami specialist from Germany who has invented the new technique known as Knotology, as a speaker on 'Exploring space with origami' on 30 October 2012. He spoke about the evolution of Knotology into Snapology, and demonstrated how his studies in Snapology led to 'an almost concrete view' of curved space and 4-dimensional objects. Students also had the chance to build their own origami models with only a few strips of paper.

Farewell Party for Gi
One of our Korean students, Mr Bae Gijong, had to take an extended leave of absence from the University at the end of Term 1, in order to fulfil national service obligations in Korea. Students organized a Farewell Party for Gi on 5 December 2012. Photos, presents and goodbyes were exchanged. Everyone treasured the moment, and we all look forward to Gi rejoining the College community at the end of his national service. Goodbye Gi and safe trip!
