Coordinated by the BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme Office and with the support of the SBS Postgraduate Student Association, the Inauguration Ceremony for our new BSc and RPg Biomedical Sciences students was successfully organized on 5 September 2016. A total of 28 students of the new BSc Programme and 19 new RPg students, together with 23 academic and teaching staff attended the ceremony. During the event, Prof. Chan Wai-yee, the School Director of SBS, gave a brief introduction of the School, followed by introduction of teachers and presentation of welcome gifts to students.
In order to recruit high caliber students for admission to the BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme in the academic year 2017-18, the School has made relentless efforts over the past few months to engage in various outreach and promotional activities. These included: - participation in the Orientation Day for Undergraduate Admissions 2016 held on 5 November 2016, and in the Admissions Information Seminar held in Macau as coordinated by the Office of Admission and Financial Aids (OAFA) on 12 November 2016;
- programme consultation session and a core laboratories tour for 19 students from St. Paul's Co-Educational College on 16 November 2016;
- promoting the programme in the secondary schools in Jakarta by joining an outreach activity as organized by the OAFA between 24 and 27 November 2016; and
- an admission talk and a core laboratories tour for 26 students from True Light Girls' College on 28 November 2016.
