What's Next? A Journey of CUHK OnePass

CUHK OnePass went live in Feb 2015, aiming at heightening security by introducing centralized authentication to all applications.

Yet, this is a journey to go.

We are now on our way to enhance different parts of the service:

Status

For Service Availability

  1. Review OnePass authentication data flow and enhance service monitoring on each components

Completed

  1. Study disaster recovery (for a long period of service failure) with alternative authentication service

Expected to be completed by 4Q 2016

For Service Coverage

  1. Introduce OnePass authentication to more services:
    • Wi-Fi service under Wi-Fi Hotspot Partnership Programme (SSID - eduroam / Universities WiFi / CSL / Y5ZONE)
    • New SSID  - CUHK1x (allows you to get connected to Wi-Fi automatically without manual login each time)

Expected to be completed in 3Q 2016

  1. Introduce OnePass federations and Active Directory applications in Central Authentication and Directory Service

Completed

  1. Assist CUHK departments and units to integrate their systems with OnePass authentication under standardized technical mechanism and procedures
