The Opening of "Science and Art" - an Art Exhibition in Hong Kong by the Painting and Calligraphy Society of the Chinese Academy of Engineering cum Scientific Reasoning and Artistic Minds Seminar were held in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 27 September, 2012. Hosted by the Painting and Calligraphy Society of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), the event was co-organized by City University of Hong Kong and CUHK. The Office of Academic Links (China) and The Office of Arts Administrator were the coordinating units in the University.

The MOU signing and Plaque-unveiling ceremony for the Shantou University-The Chinese University of Hong Kong Joint Centre for Christian Studies (CCS-STU-CUHK) was held on 5 September 2012 at Cho Yiu Hall of CUHK. Prof. Gu Peihua, Provost; Prof. Terry Bodenhorn, Dean of Faculty of Arts of Shantou University; Ms. Amy Au, Manager of Chairman's Office, Li Ka Shing Foundation; Dr. Katherine Lo, Senior Project Manager of Li Ka Shing Foundation; Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Designate; and Rev. Prof. Lo Lung-kwong, Director of the Divinity School of Chung Chi College of CUHK officiated at the ceremony.

Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) led 7 member delegation visited Ningbo to attend the Ningbo-Hong Kong Economic Co-operation Forum on 18 September 2012. The delegation included Prof. Joseph Sung, Prof. Yeung Yue-man, Emeritus Professor of the Department of Geography and Resource Management (GRM); Prof. Shen Jianfa of GRM; Dr. Ella Chan, Director of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCS); Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China) and Mr. Kenneth Chan, Senior Mainland Affairs Manager of SCS.

A delegation of CUHK attended the 14th Annual Meeting of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), co-hosted by CAST and the People's Government of Hebei Province. The meeting was held in Shijiazhuang from 8 to 10 September 2012.

Two delegations from the Ministry of Education (MOE) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

A 12-member delegation led by Prof. Zhang Guangqiang, Party Secretary of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 26 September 2012 to learn about the college system of CUHK and its development.

Dr. Jough-Tai Wang, Secretary General, Ministry of Education of Taiwan led a delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 12 September 2012.

Prof. Joseph Lee, Acting President of Taiwan Central University (NCU) led a delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 19 September 2012 to discuss collaboration issues and participated in a Seminar on Hong Kong Studies jointly organized by NCU and CUHK.

-  CUHK welcomed the delegation led by Prof. Hsueh Fu Ching, President of Taipei University on 5 September 2012. The delegation met with Prof. Hau Kit-tai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Yip Hon-ming, Chairman of the Department of History to learn about the University and its research achievement in history studies.
