The delegates were warmly welcomed in CUHK. They met with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Fung Tung, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Leung Yuen-sang, Dean of Arts; Prof. Paul Lee, Dean of Social Science; Prof. Hsiung Ping-chen, Director of Research Institute for the Humanities; Prof. Ho Pui-yin, Director of Leung Po Chuen Research Centre for Hong Kong History and Humanities (LPC), and representatives of constituent departments of the Faculties of Arts and Social Science.
The Seminar on Hong Kong Studies was held during the visit. Representatives from the two universities shared their research experience on topics covering from life of Eurasians in Hong Kong, Hakka culture to Hong Kong and Macau students in Taiwan. The event provided a platform to promote academic exchanges on Hong Kong studies between Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Meetings were held to update with each other the progress of major collaborative projects between the two universities and to discuss further directions. A Letter of Intent on Collaboration between Leung Po Chuen Research Centre for Hong Kong History and Humanities of CUHK and Hong Kong Research Center of NCU was signed during the visit. The visit consolidated the existing collaborative efforts of CUHK with NCU and enhanced ties for future development.
