A 10-member delegation from the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) under the CAE Academicians Visit Programme from 5 to 8 December 2011. The delegation comprised Prof. Jiang Wenhan from the Division of Information and Electronic Engineering; Prof. Liu Xianlin and Prof. Liu Jingnan from the Division of Civil Hydraulic and Architecture Engineering; and Prof. Wang Weiqi and Prof. Fu Xiaobing from the Division of Health Engineering.

The 3rd China Writers @CUHK was launched from 30 November to 2 December 2011. The programme was co-organized by the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and the Chinese Writers Press Group with the support from the Office of Academic Links (China) of CUHK. Two renowned writers, Mr. Mo Yan and Ms. Ge Shuiping, were invited to the University this year.

Prof. Huai Jinpeng, President of Beihang University, led a 10-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 7 December 2011. Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK warmly welcomed the delegation and he was joined by Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost; Pro-Vice-Chancellors Prof. Jack Cheng and Prof. Xu Yangsheng; Prof. Sean Tang, Associate Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Leung Ho Fung, Chairman of Department of Computer Science and Engineering; and Prof. Leung Kwok Sui, Professor of Orthopaedics and Traumatology. An agreement on academic collaboration was signed during the visit.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) warmly received a 6-member delegation led by Mr. Zhou Heping, former Vice-Minister of Culture and Director of National Library of China (NLC) on 9 December 2011.　The aim of the visit was to understand the development and services of the University Library of CUHK and to explore possibility for collaboration.

On 19 December, Prof. Zhou Qifeng, President of Peking University (PKU) led a delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to strengthen academic collaboration between the two universities.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Zhejiang University (ZJU) renewed three collaboration agreements and concluded a new MOU on 20 December 2011 to maintain the long-term academic partnership between the two parties during the visit of Prof. Yang Wei, President of ZJU.

A delegation led by Prof. Zhang Jie, President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University paid visit to the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 16 December 2011.

A 4-member delegation led by Prof. Li Jiajun, President of Tianjin University visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 16 December 2011 to understand the college system of the University.

A delegation, including representatives from higher education institutions in Jiangxi, led by Ms. Shi Rongrong, Deputy Director-General of the Education Department of Jiangxi Province, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 14 December 2011 to learn more about the management of student affairs and public relations in the University.
