CUHK Hosts a Series of Online Public Lectures

Since March 2020, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has hosted the “Class Acts” CUHK Online Talk Series for CUHK students, the public, local students and those from the Mainland and overseas countries, to encourage ongoing learning by acquiring knowledge in various areas during the pandemic. These free public lectures were presented by CUHK scholars in simple terms, outstanding in their areas of expertise, through video conferencing platform. Leture topics ranges from artificial intelligence (AI), gravitational waves, to application of robots in education for special educational needs and law of treasure hunting.

CUHK has also arranged a range of classic lecture series, including The Nobel Laureates Lectures, Chinese Culture Masters Lectures, and CUHK 55th Anniversary “The Pursuit of Wisdom” Public Lecture Series for students and members of the general public.

“XuetangX” Online Courses

There are many learning opportunities online for students to continue their study as well as to broaden their horizon during the pandemic while staying at home. “XuetangX” provides more than 2300 courses of high quality covering 13 categories of subjects, which are all from top universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley.

“XuetangX” is a MOOC platform founded by Tsinghua University, which is designed as a research interaction and achievement hub under the Ministry of Education Research Center for Online Education. It is also the online education platform of the International Center for Engineering Education under UNESCO.
