More than 40 leading experts in the field of chemical biology presented papers or participated in the discussion at the symposium, including some prominent Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); Prof. Zhang Lihe of Peking University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Prof. Lin Guoqiang of the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, CAS; Prof. Ji Liangnian of the Department of Chemistry of Sun Yat-sen University; Prof. C.M. Che, Dr. Hui Wai Haan Chair of Chemistry of the University of Hong Kong, and Prof. Henry Wong of the Department of Chemistry of CUHK. The theme speeches included "Some Uses of Metal-Based Complexes" by Prof. Zhang Lihe and "Metal Nanoparticles as Anti-Cancer and Anti-Viral Agents" by Prof. C.M. Che.
Prof. Kenneth Young, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Prof. Lin Guoqiang, Director of the Department of Chemistry, National Natural Science Foundation of China; Prof. Zhang Lihe, Academician of CAS; and Prof. Henry Wong, Chairman of the Research Committee of CUHK, and Mr Li Ling, Deputy Director General of Education, Science and Technology Department, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR officiated at the opening ceremony of the Symposium.
The Symposium provided a platform to scientists and scholars to exchange views and to present their research progress.
