Headed by Prof. Zheng Nanning, the President, a 15-member delegation from the Xi'an Jiaotong University visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from 17-19 December to exchange views and share experience on running the college system in the university.
CUHK offers Hong Kong's only college experience. The four constituent colleges, Chung Chi, New Asia, United and Shaw, complement the efforts of the University to deliver whole-person education and pastoral care. Five new colleges are Morningside College, S.H. Ho College, C.W. Chu College, Wu Yee Sun College and Lee Woo Sing College.
The delegation met with Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and College Heads, Prof. Leung Yuen-sang of Chung Chi College, Prof. Henry Wong of New Asia College, Prof. Fung Kwok-pui of United College, and Prof. Joseph Sung of Shaw College. The delegates also met with Ms. Melody Lee of New College Planning Office, Dr. Nancy Chapman of Morningside College, Prof. Louis Lee of S.H. Ho College, and representatives from the Office of University General Education, Personnel Office, and Office of Student Affairs. Besides, they visited the facilities, amenities, dormitories, buildings the four colleges and the models of the new colleges. Through the visit, the delegation has had a better understanding about CUHK, including its college system, general education, human resources management, and student facilities and amenities management. The visit also enabled and deeper understanding and exchanges between the two universities and will help to further develop and strengthen their college system. |
