- Visit of Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University
A 3-member delegation led by Prof. Chen Chunsheng, Vice-President of Sun Yat-sen University visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 4 February 2014 to explore collaboration opportunities in arts and humanities.
The delegation was greeted by Prof. Fok Tai-Fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Prof. Hsiung Ping-chen and Prof. Poo Mu-chou of the Department of History. CUHK representatives introduced to the delegation the University's recent development in arts and humanities. SYSU is one of the key partners of CUHK and the visit provided a valuable opportunity for Prof. Chen to gain further information of the recent development of CUHK and nurtured friendship between the two parties.

Closer Ties between CUHK and Taiwan Cheng Kung University
Prof. Su Huey Jen, Vice President of Taiwan Cheng Kung University led a delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 24 February 2014 to discuss academic cooperation.
The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Fok Tai-Fai and Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellors of CUHK, who introduced the University's academic development and research achievements to the delegates. CUHK members joining the discussion and meetings included Prof. Paul Lee, Dean of Social Science; Prof. Lee Tan, Associate Dean of Engineering; Prof. Diana Lee, Assistant Dean of Medicine; Prof. Hsiung Ping-chen, Director of Research Institute for the Humanities; as well as representatives from the School of Architecture, Departments of Psychology and History, Leung Po Chuen Research Centre for Hong Kong History and Humanities, Nethersole School of Nursing, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, and Office of Academic Links (China).
The delegates and CUHK representatives shared views and opinions on overall collaborative directions and plans between the two universities. Specific plans to be carried out were discussed in psychology and aging, Fujian architecture, medical humanities, basic medical sciences, engineering, covering areas ranging from academic collaboration to research projects. Prof. Su also attended the Symposium on Hong Kong and Taiwan Literature after World War II during the visit.
CUHK and Cheng Kung University have established relationship in academic exchange. This visit further deepened mutual understanding and expanded cooperation into specific collaborative projects between the two parties.
