Ms. Sophie S.S. Liu, Year 2 Ph.D. student has recently won the Merit Prize of the Professor Charles K. Kao Student Creativity Award 2013 (Postgraduate Individual Entry) for her project "Investigation of Effect of Protein Kinase A on Multipotency of Bone Marrow Stromal Cells in Adult Skeleton with the Help of a Three-Dimensional-Gel Cell Culture System". The Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on 27 May 2013. Supported by the Charles K. Kao Scholarship Endowment Fund, the Professor Charles K. Kao Student Creativity Award was set up in 2010/11 to promote the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among undergraduate and postgraduate students, and to encourage cross-disciplinary and innovative collaboration in technologies relating to engineering, medicine, science and social science.
