Party Secretary of Renmin University of China Visits CUHK
Prof. Cheng Tianquan, Party Secretary of Renmin University of China visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 10 December 2012 to understand the University and to explore collaboration opportunities.
The delegation met with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China) to receive updates on the development of CUHK. Both parties took the opportunity to discuss a variety of possible collaboration projects and agreed to enhance linkages and sustainable development between the two universities through regular academic exchanges.

Delegation from Renmin Ribao
An 11-member delegation led by Prof. Xie Guoming, Deputy Director-in-Chief of Renmin Ribao and Adjunct Professor of Fudan University visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 20 December 2012 to understand the development of the University.
The delegation comprised representatives from Renmin Ribao headquarter in Beijing and branch in Hong Kong. They met with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK to have an overview of CUHK. Next the delegates visited the School of Journalism and Communication where they met with its Director Prof. Anthony Fung to obtain knowledge of the School. The delegation was impressed by the rapid development of CUHK and the visit helped establish relationship between the two parties.

Visit of Vice-President of Shandong University
Prof. Fang Hongjian, Vice-President of Shandong University led a 6-member delegation to visit CUHK on 6 December 2012. The delegation met with CUHK representatives including Prof. Dennis Ng, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor and University Dean of Students; Prof. Kwan Hoi-san, Associate College Head & Dean of General Education; and Mr. Raymond Leung, Director of Student Affairs to understand college system of CUHK and to exchange ideas on student affairs.

Municipal Standing Committee Member of Changzhou Visits CUHK
A delegation comprising government officials and representatives from industry, led by Mr. Xu Guanghui, member of the Municipal Standing Committee and Party Secretary of the Work Committee for Science and Education Town of Changzhou, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 7 December 2012 to get to know the research facilities of the University and to establish links.
The delegation was warmly greeted by Prof. Henry Wong, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Prof. Qian Huihuan, Assistant Director of Advanced Robotics Laboratory; and Prof. Xia Jiang of Chemistry. The delegates next toured the research facilities of the Department of Chemistry and the Advanced Robotics Laboratory.
The delegation gained more information about CUHK through the visit which also nurtured friendship between CUHK and Changzhou for further collaborations.

Visit from South China Normal University
Prof. Shen Wenhuai, Vice-President of South China Normal University led a 10-member delegation to CUHK on 19 December 2012. He met with Prof. Hau Kit Tai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Alvin Leung, Dean of Education; and Prof. Leung Mei Yee, Director of University General Education to understand the development of Faculty of Education and the general education of CUHK. The delegation also visited Information Technology Services Center and met with the Director Mr. Philip Leung to learn about online teaching platform.

Visit of Director of National Research Center for Assisted Reproductive Technology and Reproductive Genetics
Prof. Chen Zijiang, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Director of National Research Center for Assisted Reproductive Technology and Reproductive Genetics, led a delegation to CUHK on 19 December 2012. The delegation met with Prof. Fok Tai Fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor-Designate and Prof. Chan Wai Yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences and other representatives from Faculty of Medicine to discuss collaboration projects. The delegation also visited the research facilities in the Faculty of Medicine.
