Jointly hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology and the HKSAR Government, the 30th China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest (CASTIC) was held at the Asia World-Expo from 18 to 24 August 2015. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) took part in this national event as one of the co-organizing units. More than 400 students from all corners of China and Hong Kong and Macau participated in the contest. The Centre for Innovation and Technology (CINTEC) and Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS) of CUHK supported the establishment of "CUHK Awards of Technological Innovations" to reward the most outstanding teams in mathematics, engineering, medical studies and environmental science. Prof. Fanny Cheung, Vice-President of CUHK, Prof. KF Wong, Director of CINTEC, Prof. Walter Ho, Director of ORKTS and Dr. Tony Tsoi, Associate Director of ORKTS, as well as Ms Wing Wong, Director of OALC attended the opening ceremony. Prof. KF Wong also joined the closing ceremony on behalf of the University and presented the prizes to the awardees.
CASTIC is a national competition with the aim to establish platforms of interaction for youngsters and science instructors, enhancing level of knowledge transfer research and training. Details of the competition can be found at http://castic.xiaoxiaotong.org/2015/
