Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Forum for Academic Exchange Heads 2018 was held at  Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) in Guangzhou on 5 June.  Over 50 participants, including representatives from the State Ministry of Education, the Education Department of Guangdong Provincial Government, as well as tertiary institutions in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China attended the event.  The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), together with GDUFS and University of Macau, served as co-convenors of the forum.  Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China) joined the activities on behalf of the University.

Participants exchanged ideas on the recent policies and development of nurturing talents and research collaboration in tertiary institutions among mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.  Topics of discussion covered synergetic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area, the construction of the world's first-class bay area and world-class metropolitan areas, as well as intellectual support and talent protection.  A seminar for Hong Kong and Macau institutions and a working group meeting among members of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance were also held on the same day.
