The 9-member delegation from ZJU was warmly received by CUHK members including Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost; Dr. Thomas Chen, Chairman of the United College and Founding Chairman of the Si Yuan Foundation; Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences; Prof. Fung Kwok-pui, Director of the ZJU-CUHK Joint Laboratory on Natural Products and Toxicology Research; Prof. Chan Kam-tai, Director of the Institute of Optical Science and Technology; Prof. Francis Chan, Director of Institute of Digestive Disease. The collaboration agreements renewed comprised those relating to academic change and joint laboratories in Natural Products and Toxicology, and in Advanced Photonics. The two universities also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Collaboration between Faculty of Medicine of CUHK and the First Affiliated Hospital of Medical School of ZJU to expand research collaboration in the field of medicine.
CUHK and ZJU have established long-term partnership since 90s. The collaboration agreements signed will further forge the cooperation of the two parties in developing close efforts in research and academic exchange.
