Leaders of Hainan Province and Hainan University Explore Collaboration Opportunities with CUHK
Mr. Mao Chaofeng, Executive Vice Governor of Hainan Province led a delegation including Prof. Liang Mou, Vice-President of Hainan University, to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 31 March. They met with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and a collaboration agreement was concluded between Hainan University and CUHK during the visit.
The delegation had meetings with CUHK representatives, including Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Mr. Raymond Leung, Director of Student Affairs; and Ms Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). Both sides exchanged ideas at the meeting specifically on prompting student interflow and nurturing of talents. The delegates were then led to visit the University Gallery, where they got to know more about CUHK's development. Visit was paid to the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, where they met with Dr. Jenny Tian, Undergraduate Programme Coordinator and Dr. Liusman Ervi, School Lecturer, and discussed future plans relating to course and internship collaboration.
CUHK members have been participating in some academic and student activities in collaboration with Hainan institutions. The visit of Mr. Mao and Vice President Liang enabled both sides to enhance understanding and connection, facilitating the expansion of bilateral collaboration.

Party Secretary of Fudan University Visits CUHK
Ms Jiao Yang, Party Secretary of Fudan University (FDU), and Prof. Zhang Zhiyong, Vice-President of FDU, led a five-member deledgation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 20 March. The delegates met with senior members of CUHK for exchange, including Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Fok Tai-fai and Prof. Isabella Poon, Pro-Vice-Chancellors; Prof. Leung Yuen-sang, Faculty Dean of Arts; and Prof. Chiu Chi Yue, Faculty Dean of Social Science.
Members of the two universities discussed various exchange projects between CUHK and FDU, and devised plans to enhance the collaborative efforts. A collaboration agreement on "Summer Student Interflow Programme in Yunnan Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture" was signed to promote cross-institution collaboration in organizing student activities. The delegates next visited Wu Yee Sun College, where they exchanged ideas of College management with Prof. Rance Lee, College Master.
FDU is one of the major key partners of CUHK. Since the partnership establishment in 1985, both universities have been developing academic links and exploring collaboration in all directions. Apart from term and year exchange programmes, student activities coordinated by OALC include Shanghai-Hong Kong Summer Camp, College Exchange Winter Programme, as well as International Summer School. The Dali Innovative Development Planning Competition was first held in 2016, with activities covering history, tourism, agriculture, business and entrepreneurship of the region. Director-General of Department of Science & Technology for Social Development, Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC Visits CUHK
Mr. Wu Yuanbin, Director-General of Department of Science & Technology for Social Development, Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC led a four-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 31 March. The delegates got to know the most updated research developments of CUHK in the meeting with CUHK members including Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Fung Tung, Associate Vice-President; Prof. Zhang Jianhua, Director of State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology (Partner Laboratory in The Chinese University of Hong Kong); and Prof. Leung Ping-chung, State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China (Partner Laboratory in The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The delegation visited the State Key Laboratories and the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change after the meeting to share experience of research work in relevant fields, and obtain the latest information to enhance communication and academic linkages.

Deputy Party Secretary of Ezhou City and Vice-President of Central China Normal University Visits CUHK
Mr Xiong Mingxin, Deputy Party Secretary of Ezhou City, and Prof. Cai Hongsheng, Vice-President of Central China Normal University, led delegations to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 22 March. They met with Prof. Fung Tung, Associate Vice-President of CUHK; Mr. Fung Siu-man, Director of Campus Development; and Ms Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China) to learn about the University's campus planning and have experience sharing. The delegates were then led by the representatives of Office of Campus Development to tour around the CUHK campus to study the maintenance and management of campus facilities.
