Vice President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Visits CUHK
A 9-member delegation led by Prof. Cai Fang, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 19 September, during which they met with Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor to enhance communication and promote collaboration. Other CUHK representatives included Prof. Anthony Fung, Co-Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies (HKIAPS), Dr. Victor Zheng, Assistant Director of the HKIAPS, Prof. Tang Chung, Director of Centre for Chinese Archaeology and Art (CCAA), Prof Zhang Junsen, Department Chairman of Economics etc.
Both sides shared updates about their respective developments and discussed ways to expand scales of collaboration and exchange during the meeting. The delegates were then led to The CASS-CUHK Chinese Archaeology Joint Research Base where they learnt about the recent developments of the Centre as well as its Archaeology research. They also visited the Art Museum and toured around campus.
Over the years, CASS and CUHK have been collaborating in a variety of joint projects. The CASS Scholars Visit Programme was first organized in 2012. Each year, three to four CASS scholars are invited to visit CUHK and deliver talks for the Lecture Series. This programme aims to strengthen academic exchange and enhance long-term collaboration between CUHK and CASS, facilitating partnership development and research synergy. In 2014, CUHK and CASS jointly established The CASS-CUHK Chinese Archaeology Joint Research Base, as the territory's first research unit dedicated to combining archaeological expertise from mainland China and Hong Kong.
The visit of Vice President Cai further bolstered the linkage developments and explored collaboration opportunities with new hights and plans.

Delegation led by Vice Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Visits CUHK
Prof. Huang Wei, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People's Republic of China, led a 5-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 25 September. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from the Education, Science and Technology Department, Liaison Office of The Central People's Government in the HKSAR and the Innovation and Technology Commission, HKSAR.
The delegates were warmly welcomed by senior members of CUHK including Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost and Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, with the accompany of academic members including Prof. Wong Ching Ping, Dean of Engineering, Professor Chan Wai Yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences, Prof. Leung Ping Chung, Director of State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China (Partner Laboratory in The Chinese University of Hong Kong), Prof. Liu Ren Bao, Professor and Prof. Yang Shen, Asst. Professor of the Department of Physic, for exchange in latest scientific research.
Senior members of CUHK introduced the University's latest development to the delegation while academic members presented their research achievements to the delegation during the meeting. The delegates were then led to the core labs of School of Biomedical Science and the Prince of Wales Hospital to visit various research units including the Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences, the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China (Partner Laboratory in The Chinese University of Hong Kong) and the State Key Laboratory of Digestive Disease (Partner Laboratory in The Chinese University of Hong Kong).
The visit facilitated the development of linkage and enable a better understanding of the University's research developments, enhancing communication for further advancement of collaboration between the MOST and the University.

Vice President of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Visits CUHK
Dr. He Minghong, Vice President of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 26 September. He met with Prof. Jamie Jia, Chairman of Marketing Department for academic exchange.
During the visit, Dr. He attended the opening ceremony of the Academic Symposium on the Theory and Application of Smart City Research as one of the officiating guests. He was led to tour around the CUHK campus and joined the symposium luncheon with senior members of the University to further enhance understanding about CUHK.
CUHK has been collaborating closely with NSFC and the joint annual academic symposium on various themes has been held since 2007. This visit contributed to enhance communication between CUHK and NSFC, expanding the scope of deep collaboration.

Visit of Associate Director of the National People's Congress Financial and Economic Affairs Committee
Prof. Gu Shengzu, Associate Director of the National People's Congress Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, led a 4-member delegation to visit the Chinese Universtiy of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 27 September. The delegates met with Prof. Shen Jianfa, Department Chairman of Geography and Resource Management, Prof. Hong Ying Yi, Convener of the Global China Research Programme, Choh-Ming Li Professor Professor of Marketing, Prof. Sung Yun Wing, Adjunct Professor of the Economics Department, Honorary Senior Research Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, Dr. Law Cheung Kwok, Director of Policy, Aviation Policy and Research Center to discuss a range of topics relating to the Belt and Road Initiative and the development plan of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Big Bay Area.
The meeting facilitated the delegation's understanding of the scientific research development of the University specifically the opportunities and challenges brought about by the Belt and Road Initiatives, as well as the research plans in relation to the national policy. The visit provided an opportunity to enhance understanding between the University and the National People's Congress Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, paving way for furture exchange and collaboration.

Delegation of The People's Government of Cixi City Visits CUHK
Mr. Gao Qingfeng, Party Secretary of The People's Government of Cixi City, led a delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 28 September. The delegates met with Professor Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and discuss on collaboration opportunity in bilaterail student interflow activities and cooperation in Innovation and Entrepreneurship projects. The visit further nurtured friendship and enhanced ties for collaboration to grow.

Delegation from Education Sector of Ningbo City Visits CUHK
A 16-member delegation from Ningbo City, led by Mr. Zhu Da, Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Education Committee, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 29 September. Members of the delegation included Mr. Wang Wei Min, Deputy Inspector of he Education Bureau of Ningbo; Prof. Shen Manhong, President of Ningbo University and Principals of key high schools in Ningbo City.
The delegates met with Prof. Wong Suk-ying, Associate Vice-President of CUHK, Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Office of Academic Links (China) and Ms. Julia Fong, Assistant Director of Admissions, Office of Admissions and Financial Aid for exchange. Prof. Wong introduced the University's latest developments to the delegation and discussed the collaboration possibilities. The visit provided an opportunity to enhance understanding and establish links between the University and education sector in Ningbo for further collaboration.

Visit of Science and Technology Department of Zhejiang Province
Mr. Zhou Guohui, Director of Science and Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, led a 6-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 28 September. The delegates met with Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, and academic members including Prof. Jun Yu, Professor of CUHK - Zhejiang University (ZJU) Joint Research Centre of Liver and Digestive Diseases; Prof. Sun Xiankai, Professor of the Joint Center for Advanced Photonics Research of CUHK and ZJU; Prof. Walter Ho, Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services for exchange in latest scientific research. The meetings enabled a better understanding of the University's research developments, especially the joint projects in Zhejiang Province, enhancing communication for further advancement.

Jack Ma Foundation – Hong Kong Academic and Cultural Interflow Tour
The "Jack Ma Foundation – Hong Kong Academic and Cultural Interflow Tour", co-organized by the Jack Ma Foundation and Hong Kong Airline, visited CUHK on 16 August. The tour comprised of 30 teachers from rural areas in mainland China. The delegation met with Dr. Wu Shih Chia of School of Journalism and Communication, Ms. Lavender Cheung, Director of Communications and Public Relations and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China), to learn more about the latest development of the University.
