4. Apply Data Encryption on Computers that Handle Personal Data or Sensitive Information

McAfee Endpoint Security Solution, which provides encryption to all university-owned desktops and laptops, has been made available for campus-wide deployment since summer 2014. Hundreds of university-owned computers have already been installed with the McAfee for better protection of sensitive data residing at endpoints.

Computers that are used to handle personal data or sensitive information are mandatory to install McAfee Endpoint Security Solution by 31 Dec 2014. You can install it through your departmental IT support or on your own. The download and the operation details can be found at http://epss.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/data_encryption/intro.html

ITSC has recently conducted a number of briefing sessions on the main campus and remote sites.  Over 500 staff have joined us and learnt the operations in details. Here are some frequently asked questions raised in these sessions.

1. How will the McAfee Endpoint Security Solution be deployed at CUHK?
2. Will it degrade my computer performance?
3. How long does it take to encrypt my USB storage device?
4. What if I forget the password of my encrypted USB storage device?

If you got the same question as above or more, find our answers at Endpoint Security Solutions Portal.
