Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Ms. Michelle LI, Vice-Secretary General of the Education Bureau, HKSAR, Mr. Song Bo, Associate Director, Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, MOE, and Mr. Ji Jianjun, Division Chief of Education, Science and Technology Department, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR officiated at the opening ceremony.
The programme consisted of a series of lectures and visits to universities, through which participants came to have a better understanding of the academic exchange, college system, human resources management and fund-raising activities in higher education institutions, as well as the education system in Hong Kong. The participants also attended Cantonese classes and paid visits to ICAC, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR, and Hong Kong Monetary Authority so as to acquire a broader picture of Hong Kong.
The programme this year was well received with great success. Apart from gaining in-depth knowledge of Hong Kong, academic links officers from different universities in Hong Kong and in the mainland were provided with a valuable opportunity to communicate with each other, enhancing mutual understanding and paving the way for future cooperation.
