2013 Ministry of Education (MOE) Interflow Programme Review Meeting

The review meeting of the 2013 Ministry of Education (MOE) Interflow Programme was held in Fudan University on 4 April 2014. Around one hundred representatives from the Education Departments of Guangdong and Fujian, and Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, Hong Kong tertiary institutions and over 70 mainland institutions attended the meeting. Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) participated in the event on behalf of the University.

Launched in 2013 by MOE, the Interflow Program aimed at supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students of higher education institutions in Hong Kong to participate in exchange and interflow activities in Mainland China. In the meeting, participants discussed the progress and the challenges they met in organizing activities under the Programme, specifying the problems encountered and possible action plans. Ms. Wing Wong of CUHK gave a presentation and shared the experience of CUHK with mainland counterparts regarding the implementation of the projects as well as the roles of academic exchange departments and the liaison work between the two regions under the Program.

In the year of 2013, a total of 98 projects under the Program in CUHK were completed in collaboration with 41 mainland universities comprising a number of around 1400 students and 100 academic members. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for the university representatives in student interflow activities from Hong Kong and Mainland China to share their experience in supporting the Interflow Program without boundaries. Participants not only obtained valuable knowledge, but also enhanced communication to explore effective practice.
