The delegation met with Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor to gain knowledge about CUHK. The delegates also visited the Institute of Chinese Medicine (ICM) and met with Prof. Leung Ping-chung and Prof. Fung Kwok-pui, Directors of ICM, to learn more about the latest projects and development of CUHK in Chinese Medicine.
The delegation was deeply impressed by the rapid development of the University and its research in Chinese Medicine, and hoped that the collaboration between CUHK and universities in Yunnan could be strengthened in future.
CUHK has started a range of collaboration projects in Yunnan. Last year, the University obtained the approval from the Ministry of Science and Technology to establish the State Key Laboratory (SKL) of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China, in collaborating with Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to conduct research into the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine and the application of biotechnology in medical science.
