Linkage with Ningbo University

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Ningbo University (NBU) established links since 2011 when a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing the Li Dak Sum Academic Exchange Fund for Collaboration was signed to support academic and student exchange, research and training between the two universities. The following exchange activities were conducted in July 2014:

1. Prof. Freedom Leung appointed Li Dak Sum Professor

Prof. Freedom Leung, Dean of Students of Shaw College and Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology, was appointed as the fourth Li Dak Sum Professor at NBU. On 2 July 2014, Prof. Leung attended the appointment ceremony and received the appointment certificate from NBU. After the ceremony, he delivered a talk entitled How to Enhance Brain Functioning? to academic members and students on NBU campus.

2. Hong Kong-Ningbo Student Interflow Program

With the support of Li Dak Sum Academic Exchange Fund, an interflow program between Shaw College of CUHK and NBU was held for 12 CUHK and 20 NBU students in Ningbo and Hong Kong from 2 to 19 July. A series of lectures and study tours were arranged during which students visited business enterprises, public organizations as well as historical sites and landmarks in Ningbo and Hong Kong. The program helped establish friendship between the students of the two universities and enhanced the understanding on the development of the two cities. Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and Mr. Zhang Zhen Zhu, Director, HK/Macao/Taiwan Affairs Office of NBU met with the participating students during the interflow program for exchange of ideas.
