CUHK Holds Distinguished Lecture Series in Beijing
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) organized the CUHK Distinguished Lecture Series at Chang Gung Hospital of Tsinghua University on 27 December 2017. Prof. Joseph Sung, then Vice-Chancellor and Mok Hing Yiu Professor of Medicine of CUHK delivered a public lecture entitled "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Future Medical Development", sharing his expertise by elaborating on the integration of AI and medical technology, with explanation on the impact of AI in medicines on future medical development. Prof. Sung also described in detail the medical robots, intelligent diagnosis and image sensing, indicating that AI in medicine will not replace medical teams in future. The lecture attracted nearly 200 staff and students of Tsinghua University and Chang Gung Hospital. With the aim of further cementing the presence of CUHK and strengthening its ties with the Greater China region, the Office of Academic Links (China) officially launched the 'CUHK Distinguished Lecture Series' in 2017. Two to three distinguished scholars from CUHK will be invited to tour and give public lectures each year in various provinces and institutes in mainland China, to highlight CUHK's excellent research achievements and share research experience. |
