Visit of Vice President of Tianjin University
A 6-member delegation led by Prof. Liu Dongzhi, Vice-President of Tianjin University visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 5 March 2014 to understand the campus development and college system of CUHK.
The delegation was greeted by Prof. Ching Pak-chung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Prof. Kenneth Young, Master of C.W. Chu College; Ms. Melody Lee, College Secretary of C.W. Chu College; Mr. Fung Siu-man, Director of Campus Development and Ms Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). CUHK representatives introduced to the delegation the recent campus development of the University and its college system. The delegates also visited C.W. Chu College to understand the unique college system in CUHK. Through the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to learn more about the University and to establish links for further collaboration.

Delegation from Zhongshan Municipal Government
A delegation of representatives from several departments of Zhongshan Municipal Government, led by Mr. Lei Biao, head of the Zhongshan Municipal Party Organization, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 17 March 2014 to get to know the University and explore collaboration opportunity.
The delegates was warmly greeted by Prof. Henry Wong,Dean of Science; Prof. Wong Kam-fai, Director of Centre for Innovation and Technology; Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Deputy Chairperson of Research Committee and Dr. Tony Tsoi, Acting Director of Knowledge Transfer.
CUHK representatives discussed various possible collaboration projects with the delegates at the meeting, including executive training, short term student exchange and collaboration on knowledge transfer. The visit enhanced understanding and nurtured friendship between CUHK and Zhongshan Municipal Government for further collaborations.

Visit of Shandong University President
Prof. Zhang Rong, President of Shandong University (SDU) led a delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 27 March 2014. The aim of this visit was to receive updates of CUHK to enhance mutual understanding for partnership development.
The delegation was received by Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost, Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of School of Biomedical Science; and Prof. Xu Jianbin of Department of Electronic Engineering. CUHK representatives gave reports to President Zhang about the recent development of the University and the joint projects between the two universities. Discussions on the possibility on extending collaborative areas were held. The delegation next paid visit to the research facilities in the School of Biomedical Sciences for a closer look of the research projects and meeting with relevant members to enhance communication.
CUHK and SDU have recently established a joint laboratory on Reproductive Genetics in 2013. There are some ongoing projects between the two parties and the visit further strengthened the partnership and fostered further development in research and academic exchange.

Other Important Visits
- Prof. Li Ming, Secretary of CPC committee of South University of Science and Technology of China led a delegation to visit CUHK on 21 March 2014. Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost of CUHK and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China) met with the guests and gave an overview of the development of the University. The delegation next toured the University Gallery to obtain more information about the history of CUHK.
- A delegation headed by Prof. Chen Jianyou, Assistant President of Northwestern Polytechnic University visited CUHK on 27 March 2014 to understand the development of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in CUHK. The guests were welcomed by Prof. Ching Pak-chung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Leung Ho-fung, Chairman of Computer Science and Engineering.
