CUHK Summer Research Placement Program for Mainland and Taiwan Students 2015
With the aim to enhance collaboration among CUHK and universities in Mainland China and Taiwan, whilst encouraging academic and cultural exchange and among students across the strait, the Office of Academic Links (China) [OALC] organized the Summer Research Placement Program for mainland and Taiwan Students from 28 June to 15 August 2015. The number of participating students and universities this year reached 94 and 35 respectively, a record high since the program was launched in 2008. Below is a list of participating universities:

Participating students were hosted by the following 22 academic and research units of the University to receive 7-week research training and take part in research activities.

Apart from research training, participating students joined seminars, Cantonese workshops and cultural exploration activities organized by OALC during the placement. They also visited various public organisations and museums, and interacted with CUHK students to obtain more knowledge of the University and Hong Kong.
Professor Gordon Cheung, Associate Vice President officiated at the opening and closing ceremonies, and joined with the hosting supervisors to present certificates to the students. He expressed that the program not only provided a valuable learning opportunity for mainland and Taiwan students to gain hands-on experience in conducting research in Hong Kong, but also encouraged interaction and enhanced mutual understanding among the students across the regions.

CUHK Summer Cultural Interflow Program for Mainland Students 2015
The Office of Academic Links (China) [OALC] organized the Summer Cultural Interflow Program for Mainland Students from 3 to 8 August 2015. A record high of 69 students from 19 Mainland universities took part in the program, spending a meaningful week in summer holiday with 13 CUHK student ambassadors.
A series of experiential learning activities were conducted in the 6-day program. Apart from acquiring knowledge of CUHK and other universities in Hong Kong via seminars and exploratory tours, visits to public organisations and museums such as the Independent Commission Against Corruption, the Equal Opportunities Commission and Hong Kong Museum of History were arranged for students to have a general picture of Hong Kong's political, economic, social and cultural conditions and development.
This program provided a valuable chance for Mainland and CUHK students to interact and understand different cultures from each other. The University also strengthened links with its partner universities on the mainland through this program.

CU in Mainland & Taiwan in Summer 2015
Office of Academic Links (China) [OALC] organizes a wide range of short-term student interflow and experiential learning programs every summer, in collaboration with institutions in Mainland China and Taiwan.
This month, 15 CUHK students participated in the following programs. Starting from April 2015, a total of more than 280 students were sent to participate in 35 programs hosted by different institutions on the mainland and in Taiwan.

CUHK Student Ambassador Program 2015/16 Now Open for Application!
Every year, OALC receives hundreds of delegations from Mainland China and Taiwan to foster academic links and partnership with the two regions. Delegates include senior members of universities, as well as university and secondary school students.
The Office is now recruiting Student Ambassadors to help receive delegations. The ambassadors will be mainly responsible for campus tours and sharing of learning experience with the delegates on behalf of the University.
The program is now open for application. The ambassadors will receive training before being assigned to help receive delegations. Subsidies will be provided according to the University's Student Campus Work Scheme.
Interested full-time CUHK students (undergraduates and postgraduates with a good command of Putonghua) are invited to apply via the webpage below by noon, 18 September 2015 (Friday)
