Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Drill

An Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) drill organized by the University Health Service (UHS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong was held at the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building on 7 January 2014.

Being one of the buildings in campus equipped with AED(s), trained users here can use this device to quickly assist those suffering from life threatening cardiac arrhythmias and prevent them from having cardiac arrests.  Through taking part in a simulated scenario and a debriefing session, qualified AED users and first-aiders from both the School of Biomedical Sciences and the School of Pharmacy could practice and understand better the rescue procedures by applying AED to the one in need when emergency happens in the building.

We are grateful to the University for equipping us with the AEDs to safeguard the life of our members.  We would also like to thank our qualified AED users and first-aiders to serve as life-saving volunteers for the School.
